MDUSD Regional Magnet School

Holbrook Language Academy and MDUSD has received the Golden Bell Award from the California School Boards Association (CSBA) for its Two-Way Dual Immersion Program in English and Spanish. The award celebrates outstanding education programs and governance practices in the "English Learners/Multi-literacy" category.  Superintendent Dr. Adam Clark accepted the award along with Principal Aya Rubio, teacher Karen Hernandez and School Board Member Cherise Khaund. "On behalf of the Governing Board, I want to thank the Holbrook students, families and staff for their commitment to learning," Clark said. "This is an exceptional program that is deserving of this special recognition."

At the school celebration, the bell was on display at the school entrance, surrounded by small paper bells and a large poster on the wall that students wrote messages on, such as: "I love Holbrook!"
"It's an incredible honor to be recognized for all the hard work and dedication of the entire Holbrook community," Rubio said, adding that she was happy that families could share in the celebration.
